The Pothole Surfers Cycling Team will travel to Charlotte, NC July 30-31, 2004 to pound the pavement at team member Steve's old stomping grounds to benefit The Lance Armstrong Foundation, the CMC Brain Tumor Program, and the Buddy Kemp Caring House, named for a former Bank of America executive who died from a brain tumor.
The "24 Hours of Booty" is the premiere 24 hour road cycling event in the country! For those who don't know, the "Booty Loop" is a 3-mile, gently rolling loop situated in the beautiful Myers Park neighborhood just outside Charlotte's Center City. There are many rumors as to the origin of the name, which has been traced as far back as 1992. Regardless of how the name came to be, the Booty Loop is the most popular cycling and running loop in Charlotte, and will soon host cyclists from around the country as they participate in the 24 Hours of Booty!
The goal of the 24 Hours of Booty is to provide an extraordinary event that is safe, fun, and challenging, while bringing cancer awareness to the community and raising funds for noteworthy charities.
