Good trails for all skill levels. Some technical, with some good fast sections. Watch for horses and hikers as it is multi-use. I usully ride a 10 mile loop, but there are at least 20 miles of trails with some decent creek crossings. Small fee ($3) for well groomed trails and a trail map is available for free. One tip to remember, when hitting that slippery climb, look for the dried horse poop. They give a good traction boost.
I'll start by saying this is my wife's favorite trail. Her Trek hardtail eats it up. AND - if the wife likes the trail - it ultimately means she won't object to YOU buying more $tuff for your bike! Excellent trail for novice riders to develope speed and strength with that mtn bike feel of rocks, roots and dirt. Races are held here due to WIDE trails and fast runs. There are a few shallow creek crossings and a couple more technical trails on the other side of the levee. Watch for horses and hikers. Overall, I've never wrecked here - so that lowers the score a few tires. This place doesn't offer much for expert riders other than speed. Scenery is beautiful. The park is very nice for a family day picnic. (bring a boat and fish) The ranger store sells food and drinks, there's a hose to wash the bikes and showers to wash you. If you have kids, bring the BMX bikes, they will love it and Mom won't fear broken arms. For families, kids and novice riders I give the park a five. For experts looking for a place to push your fear, I give it a three. The middle ground is a four Recommended Route:through Waxhal, Hwy 200 Follow signs. I enter the trail near the ranger shack and loop around. ($3 for a 'bike tag')
